The awards stirred controversy as family and fans of Christina Grimmie, expressed their disappointment that the show did not mention Grimmie, especially during the #StoptheViolence tribute, which was presented by actress Jessica Alba and singer Ne-Yo and honored the family members of teens who had died as a result of violence.
